Risto Ahti celebrates his 50th year as a poet. Ahti was born in 1943 in Lahti, Finland. He has worked as a writer teacher in the folk high school Oriveden opisto (Ahlman) since the 80’s. Big part of the currently publishing writers have been Ahti’s students. Ahti himself has recently published a new poetry book Ensimmäinen rakkaus (WSOY).
Risto Ahti is a founding member of the Lahti Poetry Marathon. In the seminaire in Saturday we hear how Ahti’s work as a writer, his philosophy and teachings have left a unique mark in the finnish literature.
