Runomaraton/Poetry Marathon is being arranged
this year 17th to 18th June in the center of Lahti.
Poetry Marathon invites you to various art & culture events during the week-end. Our programs are mainly in Finnish, but art has a universal language – hasn’t it? – so everyone feel free to enjoy the big variety of different events.

Work shop is for anyone who interested in writing poetry / creative writing.
No former experience needed.
Instructed by freelance-writer Anna Ihamäki.

The attendants also have a possibility to take part on Poetry Slam held on the same evening at Restaurant Torvi.

Doors are open from 19:00, signing-up from 19:30.
Qualifiers for the Finnish Poetry Slam Championship. The winner will represent Lahti and Päijät-Häme region in the grand final in August, in Kuopio. Grab your own poetry and step in to the stage! Detailed rules can be checked from here.

All the programs on Sunday will be held in Kansantalo. The whole building will be used by Runomaraton, so there will be two entrance options : from the main door (Aleksanterinkatu 26) or from Kino Iiris (Saimaankatu 12).

“100 POETRY BOOKS FROM FINLAND” – actually from Lahti! (In Finnish)

In Kino Iiris there is a possibility to watch the finalists of this year’s poetry video competiton and the best ones from the last years.

Take your poem(s) with you and make a max. 5 minutes ex tempore video in front of real audience!
Lahden Videokuvaajat will record the video. Music in the background provided by a real authentic troubadour! (or something like that).
The price of the video is 10€. For that price you will get your very own, very unique edited poetry video on a pendrive.
